MIDTOWN - Security is impossible to miss on 42nd and 2nd Avenue in Manhattan near where President Obama will be staying.

President Obama is having a very New York weekend. On Saturday, he will attend an afternoon showing of Hamilton on Broadway.  A play about founding father Alexander Hamilton.

The President will be arriving at JFK Airport Friday evening. The president will not be staying at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel this trip, unlike many presidents before him on visits to New York City.

The change, according to reports, is because of new Chinese ownership of the hotel and spying concerns, but The White House will not say what exactly prompted the change.

The weekend is also reported for the president to spend quality time with his daughters, Sasha and Malia.

Tonight, President Obama will attend a Democratic Fundraiser on the Upper East Side.
