HARTFORD, Conn. — Rapper 50 Cent filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in a Connecticut federal court on Monday.
In court papers filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Hartford, Conn., the rapper born Curtis James Jackson III reported assets and debts each in the range of $10 million to $50 million, according to WTIC.
Last week, a New York jury ordered Jackson to pay $5 million to a woman who sued over a sex tape.
Jackson owns 50 Poplar Hill Drive in Farmington, according to the tax assessor's office for the town, located about 10 miles west of Hartford. The property had been up for sale for years but is currently off the market. According to Zillow, the home has 21 bedrooms, 25 bathrooms, and spans 48,515 square feet.
