ABSECON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Transit says passengers were stranded for more than three hours after their train broke down and their rescue train became disabled.
NJ Transit spokeswoman Jennifer Nelson says the train was headed toward Philadelphia with 80 passengers when it lost power north of Absecon Station after 9 a.m. Thursday.
The train regained power but broke down again.
Another train linked up and passengers were transferred because there was no air conditioning on the disabled train. However, the combined trains became disabled just south of Absecon.
The two trains were eventually able to move again. They arrived in Atlantic City at around 12:45 p.m.
It’s not clear what disabled the trains.AlertMe
