THE BRONX — An investigation is underway after a 39-year-old man was stabbed to death in the Bronx early Friday, police say.
Police received a call shortly after 5 a.m. of an assault in progress at 845 Gerard Ave. When officers arrived, they found the victim unconscious and unresponsive, with a stab wound to the chest.
EMS responded to the location and transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the NYPD.
There were no arrests made and the investigation is ongoing.
The identity of the deceased is pending family notification.
