JAMAICA, Queens — A suspicious powder that turned out to be pepper spray is causing delays to John F. Kennedy from Jamaica Station on the AirTrain.

Authorities were investigating the suspicious substance, which was pepper spray that discharged in a garbage container on the platform, the Port Authority confirmed.

Three people were evaluated at the scene with minor injuries but refused medical attention, the FDNY confirmed.

Commuters heading to JFK via AirTrain should prepare for delays.
