HARLEM, Manhattan — Police are searching for a suspect who fled their custody in Harlem Tuesday evening -- and it was all caught on tape.

Tareek Arnold, 23, was being transported from a Harlem police precinct when he pushed over an officer and ran away. Surveillance video showed Arnold, donning handcuffs, running from police.

Police lost track of Arnold in the vicinity of 134th Street and Fredrick Douglass Boulevard.

Arnold was in custody on an attempted murder charge.

Neighbors in Harlem have been on edge since Arnold escaped.

"Where can he be, how can this happen," one neighbor told PIX11. "It's like the two guys upstate, this is crazy."

Arnold was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, gray sweatpants and gray sneakers.
