Ballperson tryouts for 2015 US Open begins Thursday

FLUSHING, Queens–Tryouts to become one of the ballpersons at the US Open begins Thursday afternoon. More than 350 people are expected to fill out the approximately 80 open ballperson slots. Prospective ballpersons will be evaluated by US Open officials on their running, throwing and catching skills.


WHAT: Approximately 80 slots as ballpersons for the 2015 US Open are up for grabs.

WHO: Ages 14 and above

WHEN: Thursday, June 25 (Participants can register beginning at 3 p.m. Evaluation begins at approximately 4 p.m.)

WHERE: USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing
