Surveillance video shows suspect accused of groping woman in Midtown stairwell

MIDTOWN, Manhattan — Police have released new surveillance video of a suspect they say  a woman in a Midtown building.

According to police, the incident happened Thursday around 4 p.m. on W. 32nd Street inside of a commercial building. The victim, a 41-year-old woman, was lured into a stairwell by the suspect. He then grabbed her from behind and touched her chest.

The victim was able to break free and scream for help.

The suspect was wearing a two-toned Yankee hat, gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants and white sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website or texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
