Long Island teen fatally stabbed during dispute

MASTIC, Long Island (PIX11) — A 17-year-old was stabbed to death after a verbal dispute on Long Island.

The victim, Trevor Bender, was riding in a car stuck in traffic on Mastic Road and Moriches Avenue Friday around 5:10 p.m. when he and the 18-year-old driver approached a group of people they knew, according to police.

During the dispute, a man stabbed Bender in the chest and fled on flood.

He was pronounced dead at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center.
