Brooklyn double shooting leaves man dead, another injured

NEW YORK (AP/PIX11) — Authorities are looking for suspects in a Brooklyn shooting that left one man dead and another man injured.

The New York Police Department says officers responded to New Lots Avenue and Shepherd Avenue around 9 p.m. Monday. They found a man who had been shot in the chest. Inside a building on New Lots Avenue, they found a 22-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his arm, stomach and back.

The men were taken to the hospital, where the man who had been shot in the chest was pronounced dead. The other man was in serious but stable condition.

No name has been released for the man who died. An investigation is underway.

An unofficial tally has at least ten people shot, two of them killed overnight in New York City.
