CORNWALL, N.Y. (PIX11) — New York State Police recovered a body from the Hudson River near where a kayaker disappeared in April.

The body of a man was found near West Point Military Academy Saturday afternoon.

Police transported the body to the Orange County morgue where an autopsy will be performed.

The location where the body was found is not far from where 46-year-old Vincent Viafore disappeared in April after his kayak capsized.

His fiance, 35-year-old Angelika Graswald was charged with murder. Orange County prosecutors say Graswald killed Viafore when the two were kayaking back from an excursion to Bannerman Island, 50 miles north of New York City.

Police have not released the identity of the body.
