NEW YORK (PIX11) – The woman who allegedly tried to kidnap a young boy at a Central Park playground has been arrested and charged, police said Wednesday.

Police say last Tuesday morning Cecile Jackson, 35, approached a 2-year-old who was sitting on the swing inside Heckscher playground, picked the boy up and tried to leave the park.

The nanny, 27, who was pushing the boy’s brother on a nearby swing, stopped Jackson from leaving and took the toddler out of her arms, according to police.

No one was hurt in the incident, and Jackson allegedly ran from the scene.

She now faces one charge of attempted kidnapping.
