DENVER, Co. (PIX11) -- A Colorado mom has gone viral after she posted a video scolding her 13-year-old daughter for pretending to be older and posting suggestive photos on Facebook.

In the video posted on Sunday, Val Starks asks her daughter to look at the camera when she sheepishly states her age. "You're 13. So why does your Facebook page say that you're 19?" Starks asks.

Starks asks her daughter why she has photos in a bra and lace panties on her page, and why she is referring to herself as a "freak."

"You wasn't crying when you was posting pictures on Facebook, was you?" she asks. "Some little girl in some lace panties that you know you don’t own. You still wear panties that say Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.”

The video has been viewed more than 300,000 times and garnered thousands of comments of support.

"Yep we need parents like you...discipline and structure is very important," one woman commented. "Great job mom. Need more like you," a man wrote.

Despite all the praise, Starks has gotten negative feedback, with some saying she made the problem "worse."

"SMH, that's something I would never do to none of my kids, you don't need to show the world how discipline your kids they way you do it is just your way. To many parents take things to far sometimes, as an adult there are better ways to do things," a father wrote.

After the video exploded, Starks posted a thank you message to those supporting her.

"I am truly overwhelmed with the support and feedback from all u parents, mothers and father from the bottom of my heart I sincerely thank each and every one of you! It truly takes a village to raise a child. I only set out to touch one mother or father or to trigger a thought of what their child might be doing but I thank u Father GOD THAT U USED A SINNER LIKE ME TO SPREAD AWARENESS TO THE WORLD ABOUT THE DANGEROUS CONSEQUENCES OF SOCIAL MEDIA. GOD BLESS U ALL."
