MANHATTAN (PIX11) -- The death of a man found under a mattress at a Manhattan hotel has been ruled a homicide, police said Tuesday as they identified the victim.

Roderick Goodwin, 28, was found shortly after 4 a.m. Monday unconscious and unresponsive underneath the bed at the Hilton Garden Hotel, located at 63 W. 35th St., police said. He had suffered trauma to the back of his head, but the Medical Examiner is still in the process of determining his official cause of death.

Goodwin lived in Bridgeton, N.J., in the southern part of the Garden State, police said.

No arrests have been made in the case.
