BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (PIX11) — A 22-year-old man has been arrested more than a year after his baby boy’s suspicious death after authorities found the infant had an elevated amount of alcohol in his body.

Jorge E. Chiclana, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Monday at a motel in Stratford, and charged with manslaughter in the second degree, as well as risk of injury/impairing the morals of children, the AP reports.

On May 5, 2014, police responded to a report that the 5-month-old boy wasn’t breathing at an apartment on Ely Avenue in Bridgeport. Authorities attempted to resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Shortly after the incident, the Special Victims Unit and Crime Scene Unit declared the boy’s death was untimely and suspicious in nature.

Almost a  year later, in March 2015,  autopsy and toxicology reports revealed elevated levels of alcohol in the boy’s system at death.

Chiclana was being held on $75,000 bond. He is due in Superior Court on Tuesday.
