(PIX11) — A new trend among brides almost took a deadly turn for one newlywed.

The new bride Amy Zuno decided to get in on the “trash the wedding dress” trend that has gone viral online.

While her new husband Eric waited in the water for her, Amy jumped off the dock to meet him. Things took a terrifying turn as Zuno was pulled under the water by the weight of her dress.

“I felt the weight of the dress on me,” Zuno told Inside Edition. “I heard screaming and people jumping into the water so then I was like, okay, maybe I just got married and I’m going to die today.”

The bride was submerged underwater for 25 seconds before fighting her way to the surface.

Eric said he began to panic when he couldn’t get the dress over the top of her head.

After almost drowning, Amy says she “doesn’t regret it” when looking back at the incident.
