NYPD release photos of suspects in Torneau jewelry heist

MIDTOWN (PIX11) -- Police have released surveillance images of the suspects in a broad daylight gunpoint robbery of a high-end jewelry store in Midtown.

On Tuesday, a trio of well-dressed robbers -- dressed in suits and top hats -- stormed into the Torneau Shop at 510 Madison Avenue. One of the men, identified as 18-year-old Omar Rawlins, fired a shot at the floor, while the other two smashed display cases with hammers and pilfered Rolex watches.

jewelry2 The men fled the store on foot, but Rawlins was captured nearby shortly after. He has been charged with robbery.

Anyone with information in regards to the whereabouts of the other two bandits is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
