Boy, 15, arrested in shooting death of teen

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A 15-year-old boy is accused of murder after he allegedly opened fire at a Brooklyn housing development, striking two other boys — ages 13 and 16, police said Wednesday.

The older victim, identified as Dontea Bascom, died at a hospital. The younger victim, who has not been named, suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Elijah Morton, 15, was arrested Wednesday in connection with the deadly shooting last month. Morton faces charges of murder, attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon/loaded firearm, NYPD said.

Officers were called about 7 p.m. April 17 to the Marcy Houses, located at 626 Park Ave. in Bed-Stuy, police said. When they arrived, they found a 13-year-old boy with two gunshot wounds to his torso and and one to his leg, and a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the groin. The older boy died.
