NEWARK, N.J. (PIX11) -- The victim of a deadly Mother’s Day shooting at a bike blessing ceremony in Newark has been identified as a 15-year-old boy, officials said Monday.

Al-Shakeen Woodson, of Newark, N.J., died at a hospital Sunday night. He was mortally wounded when gunfire broke out about 7:45 p.m. near 19th Avenue and South 16th Street, according to the Essex County Prosecutor.

The shooting happened on Mother’s Day at an annual event meant to mark the beginning of motorcycle season, officials said.

Three others were hurt in the shooting -- all adults, all men. They suffered non-life threatening injuries and were treated at hospitals, said chief assistant prosecutor Thomas S. Fennelly, with the Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit.

As the sun rose Monday, investigators remained at the crime scene, still cordoned off with police tape more than 12 hours after the shooting.

There have been no arrests in the deadly shooting. Anyone with information is urged to call the prosecutor's Task Force detectives at 877-847-7432 or 973-621-4586.
