BALTIMORE (PIX11) – As footage continues to circulate of destructive, violent young rioters smashing windows, setting cars on fire and attacking Baltimore police, horrified local residents, including former NFL star Ray Lewis, are speaking out.

In a powerful address posted to his Facebook page, the former Baltimore linebacker decried the actions of those who attacked police and property, saying,  No way, no way, no way this can happen in our city, no!

You don’t have no right to do what you’re doing to this city too many hard-working city build this city.  Too many hardworking people built this city, we put this city together, we put this city on our backs,” Lewis said.  “We know we’re not getting the right justice, we know all these answers, but riding in these streets is wrong, it’s dead wrong.”

“The sad part is we’ve got young kids trying to tell us they’re going to dictate our city,” Lewis continued. “Whatever I gotta do, it will not happen on our clock.”

Not everyone agreed with Lewis however, many of the comments accused him of being out of touch:
