DURHAM, N.C. (PIX11) — A North Carolina boy got the surprise of a lifetime while having his photo taken at school.

According to WTVD, Joshua, a third grader at Pearsontown Magnet Elementary was having his photo taken for picture day when someone jumped in the background.

Corporal James Bass wanted to surprise his son after being deployed for months in Kuwait.

The photographer then shows Joshua the photo with his photobombing father in the back.

An excited Joshua jumps into his fathers arms for a heartwarming moment.
