MANHATTAN (PIX11/AP) — An investigation is underway after three people were slashed and injured in the Union Square subway station early Friday.

No arrests have been made in the case. Police said a dispute between two groups of men began outside the station about 5 a.m. and continued inside the 14th Street station.

One person was slashed on the face, another suffered injuries to the forehead and a third was stabbed in the back. Fire officials said they were taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call the Crime Stopper hotline at 800-577-TIPS.

The incident briefly affected subway traffic through the area, forcing uptown 4, 5 and 6 trains to run on the express track between Union Square and Grand Central.
