Owner dies after shooting at his New Jersey store

SOUTH HACKENSACK, N.J. (PIX11) — New Jersey police are investigating a shooting that killed a business owner,¬†authorities said.

Richard Zariello, 51, of Chestnut Ridge, was shot Sunday evening at his Clean Sweep Chimney Depot store, located on 480 Route 46 West, Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli said.

Zariello was taken to a hospital in grave condition, Molinelli said. The victim was pronounced dead at 3:45 p.m. and the case is now being investigated as a homicide, the prosecutor said.
