Alaska Airlines flight makes emergency landing after screaming heard from cargo hold; ramp agent found inside
SEATTLE, Wash. (PIX11) — An Alaska Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing after banging and screaming from a crew member trapped in the cargo hold was heard by the pilot.
PIX11 affiliate FOX 13 reports that the flight from Sea-Tac was bound for Los Angeles when the pilot heard banging from beneath the aircraft about 14 minutes into the flight. When the plane returned to Sea-Tac, a ramp agent was found in the cargo hold which is pressurized and temperature controlled, according to the airline.
“The ramp agent appeared okay, and was transported to the hospital as a precaution,” Alaska Airlines said in a statement.
The airline is investigating the incident.
