Even is a shopper purchases just one item, they’re oftentimes left holding an extremely long receipt, packed with coupons for “savings.” The notorious CVS receipt has even spawned parody accounts on Twitter. Many have taken to social media to complain about the receipts — and the apparent waste of paper.
So what exactly is the retailer doing to curb the epidemic of long receipts? CVS says that sending your ExtraCare offers to your card via CVS.com will shorten your receipt. Also, the company says they’re working on other ways to shorten the receipts.
In the meantime, consider tossing your receipt in a recycling bin if you won’t be using any of the coupons.AlertMe
