EAST TREMONT, N.Y. (PIX11) -- An arrest has been made in the case of a fake maintenance worker who allegedly sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl at her Bronx apartment while she was home alone, police said.

The attack happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday at an apartment on East 181 Street.

Jose Nallar, 62, was arrested shortly after midnight Wednesday, police said. He faces charges of first-degree rape, third-degree burglary and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.

He lives a few blocks away from the victim, police said.

Investigators said the attacker, who was posing as a maintenance worker, knocked on the girl's door and said he was there to make repairs in the apartment.

The young girl, who was home by herself, let the stranger inside and went into a back bedroom to call her mother, police said.

Shortly after, the fake worker attacked, pushing her to the bed and raping her, police said.

The girl was taken to a hospital for treatment.
