ASTORIA, Queens (PIX11) --On Steinway Street in Astoria, Queens, Chef & Owner of "Kabab Cafe" Ali El Sayed talked to us about brains on the menu. Yes, brains. No, not human.

One of the places in NYC that serve this dish. We tried the dish.

Among the restaurants in New York City, Takashi in the West Village also has a dish right now. Both restaurants said the dishes are very popular with customers. PIX11 News also spoke with Registered Nutritionist and Dietician, Keri Gans.

"Brains have a lot of nutritional value," said Gans.

"Bottom line is you always want to eat a variety of foods, plenty of fruits and vegetables, and if you like organ meats, include them, but I don't know if I would include them everyday," said Gans.
