REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich.(PIX11) — A woman is under investigation after police say she gave birth at her place of work and then tried to conceal the dead baby’s body in a bag underneath her desk.

According to WJBK, the newborn baby was found dead in the 26-year-old mother’s bag under her desk in the cubicle at her workplace, Ceva Logistics in Michigan.

Police are now investigating to find out if the baby was alive at birth.

Employees told police they heard moaning coming from the woman’s bathroom and then discovered blood in the stall. The woman had returned to her desk and tried to resume her work. The deceased infant was reportedly not found until her bag was checked later that day.

No one knew the woman was pregnant, police say.

The mother is recovering at the hospital.

No arrests have been made and an autopsy of the baby is pending.
