MARINE PARK (PIX11) — A body found at Marine Park Golf Course Thursday evening has been identified by his family as missing autistic man Brian Gewirtz, authorities say.

Gewirtz, 20, who was autistic and diabetic, was last seen leaving his home on Coleman Street in Marine Park on one of the coldest days of the year — Tuesday, Feb. 17.

Family and friends searched the area for over a month, clinging on to hope that Gewirtz would be found alive.

Police say the body was found along the shoreline Thursday evening at the Marine Park Golf Course at 2880 Flatbush Avenue.

The cause of his death has not been determined at this time.
