STATEN ISLAND (PIX11) – One of the faces of “Mob Wives,” Big Ang, has been diagnosed with a large tumor in her neck, TMZ is reporting.

The 51-year-old reality star got the bad news from Staten Island doctors after she went to the hospital complaining of throat pain, sources told the site.  The mass is apparently about the size of a lemon and it’s unclear whether or not it’s cancerous.

Big Ang was photographed recently at a reality TV event in New York City wearing an outfit that concealed her neck.

It’s not known if the apparent diagnosis is related to her smoking, which she said in a 2013 interview she has no plans to quit.  She told NJ.com:

“I don’t want to smoke but I just can’t help it.  Now, they give you this medicine and I don’t like to take medicine.  They want to give you this stuff — they say it gives you these crazy nightmares, I don’t need that.  I’ll just smoke.”

According to TMZ, Big Ang will be undergoing surgery soon.
