DALLAS (Tribune Media Wire) -- A Texas mother is accused of leaving her 7-year-old daughter in a dumpster while she spent the day at a spa.

Surveillance video shows Alicia Carroll, her 7-year-old daughter, Carroll's boyfriend and a friend at King Spa in Dallas over the weekend, according to KDAF.

Police said the group was kicked out because they brought alcohol into the business. Surveillance video shows Carroll and her daughter leaving the spa at 10 p.m.

Then Carroll and her daughter climbed into a nearby dumpster.

"Detectives believe that Ms. Carroll and her daughter climbed into the Dumpster because Ms. Carroll believed that the police had been called and were chasing her," said Maj. Rob Sherwin, with the Dallas Police Department.

Early Sunday, Carroll climbed out of the dumpster and was given a ride home, but she left her 7-year-old in the trash receptacle. Carroll then called police and claimed a friend had her daughter and she was unable locate her. However, police said this was not true.

Witnesses reported seeing the girl wandering the streets "alone and afraid."

Carroll is charged with abandoning a child in imminent danger. Her bond was set at $25,000.
