(PIX11) -- Looks like winter's fury is back again before April showers take over the forecast.
A wave of low pressure rides along the front from the south and some moisture could develop, especially east of the city. During the day, temperatures may be a bit too warm so some rain could mix in with snow. Heading into the evening, temperatures go below freezing and that could be the best chance for any accumulation snow on Long Island, which might get as much as 1-3” of snow. From the city and points west, a coating cannot be ruled out.
Highs today will only be around 35 to 40. Sunday will be much better, albeit on the cool side. Highs will only top out in the lower 40s under mostly sunny skies.
Early next week will feature a few weak clipper systems that may trigger one or two showers. Otherwise, it’ll be partly cloudy with temperatures in the lower 50s.
