Man arrested in Bed-Stuy subway slashings

BED-STUY, Brooklyn (PIX11) — Police have made an arrest in a string of subway slashings in Brooklyn.

Shawn Howard, 28, of the Bronx, has been charged with assault an criminal possession of a weapon.

Officers Travis Warfield and Sgt. Brian Rabbitte, assigned to the Brooklyn Transit Impact unit, recognized Howard from a wanted photo and took him into custody on the corner of Broadway and Patchen Avenue. During a search, the officers found Howard in possession of a razor blade.

Cops say Howard is responsible for slashing a 19-year-old man’s face aboard a ‘C’ train Monday, a 21-year-old woman’s face on an ‘A’ train after shouting at her ‘I don’t like you!’ on Tuesday, and the face of a 23-year-old woman aboard a ‘C’ train on Thursday.
