LEVITTOWN (PIX11) – Police arrested two men known for casing dental care aisles and making off with thousands of dollars worth of Crest Whitening Strips.

Jamel McDonal, 30, of Roosevelt, and William Byrd, 43, of Uniondale, face charges of grand larceny and petit larceny after police say they caught the men red-handed Monday at a Levittown Target.  McDonal also faces an additional grand larceny charge for allegedly stealing Crest Whitening Strips and razors from a Westbury Target store.

Target security told police they recognized the pair from previous thefts on four other occasions in which $3,500 worth of Crest Whitening Strips had been swiped from the store.

Officers arrested both men without incident.  They will be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
