MOUNT HOLLY, New Jersey (PIX11) – Law enforcement officials arrested a 67-year-old Sicklerville woman Monday on charges that she helped her son cover up the murder of his wife in January.
Officers arrested Jo Crosby around 6:30 a.m. at her home on Saint Moritz Drive and charged her with one hindering apprehension, tampering with evidence and destroying records. Her son, 28-year-old Kyle Crosby, was charged with murder in January after his wife, 26-year-old Erica Crippen, disappeared.
“We believe Jo Crosby played a major role in helping her son Kyle conceal the crime of murder,” Prosecutor Bernardi said. “She assisted his efforts to conceal the body of his wife, Erica Crippen, after he took her life.”
Because of the ongoing case, the prosecutor’s office declined to reveal any specific details.
Police arrested Kyle Crosby after a traffic stop led to a foot chase in Bellmawr, Camden County. Investigators discovered “several items they believe have evidential value in connection to her disappearance.” Crippen’s body has not been recovered, but authorities say they have several leads.
Kyle Crosby is being held on $1 million bail in the Burlington County Jail, his mother posted the $1,250 bail set by the judge. Detectives from the Mount Laurel Police Department continue to search for Erica Crippen.
Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Erica Crippen is asked to contact Burlington County Central Communications at 609-265-7113 or the Mount Laurel Police Department through Facebook at firstname.lastname@example.org.
