NEW YORK (PIX11) — Monday could be considered a holiday for ice cream fans who — with a little patience — can be treated to a free cone at Dairy Queen.
DQ is celebrating 75 years of doling out swirl-topped cones by giving them away — for free. Visitors are welcomed to a small soft-serve vanilla ice cream cone, but the promotion is available only at participating locations, so call before you go.
One such location New Yorkers can try is Dairy Queen’s shop at 54 West 14th St. in Greenwich Village, which opened less than a year ago. There are also DQ stores on Staten Island and in Jersey City and North Bergen.
