TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Wintry weather is once again causing treacherous travel conditions in New Jersey.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for most of central and southern New Jersey, while other areas are under a winter weather advisory.

A wintry mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain started falling across the state Sunday morning and should continue through early Monday. Temperatures were expected to slowly climb above freezing overnight.

About an inch of snow and up to a quarter-inch of ice may accumulate in central and southern Jersey. Northern areas will see less ice, but 2 to 3 inches of snow and sleet is possible.

Numerous spinouts and accidents had occurred by Sunday night, and speed limits were reduced on most major highways, including the Garden State Parkway and the New Jersey turnpike.

New Jersey Transit will cross-honor tickets system wide on Monday.
