(PIX11) — Chris Brown announced on Twitter that he was denied entry into Canada ahead of his Montreal concert.

The R&B crooner was set to perform in Montreal Tuesday night. In series of now-deleted tweets, explained the situation to fans.

Screen shot 2015-02-24 at 7.36.33 PM“Unfortunately I will not be able to perform in front of sold out crowds in Montreal & Toronto,” one of the tweets read. The exact reason for Brown not being allowed into Canada is unclear, but the rapper has had several run-ins with the law since he assaulted former girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

Twitter took no time to react to Brown’s misfortune, using jokes involving  Canadian rapper Drake, who brown is constantly feuding with.
