WASHINGTON HEIGHTS (PIX11)-- A homeless dog has a new family tonight.

Charlie, a Shepard mix that was rescued in a New York City park, lived on his own out in the wild for ten years.

A woman who always noticed Charlie running around in a park near her home decided to adopt him.

Medically Charlie is in good health but doctors are worried about his mental health.

He is refusing to eat and is overwhelmed by people.

Doctors hope to see his conditions improve once he is in a safe, warm and quiet home.
