Father accused of using 5-month-old child to hide marijuana

CANADIAN COUNTY, Okla. (PIX11) — An Arizona man was arrested after authorities say they found marijuana hidden under a baby in his vehicle.

Accoridng to KOCO, an officer discovered the marijuana after pulling over Andrew Charles Wyatt Jr. for speeding on Interstate 40 around 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Senior Agent Mike Arnold said he smelled marijuana when he pulled Wyatt over. After searching the vehicle, Arnold found approximately half a pound of marijuana hidden inside the car seat of Wyatt’s 5-month-old child.

It was reported that Wyatt initially claimed he did not know the marijuana was in the car seat but eventually tried to pin it on the child’s mother.

The child’s mother claimed she did not know anything about the marijuana either.

Wyatt was arrested and the child’s mother retained custody.
