BURBANK, Calif. (AP/PIX11) — A fitness model featured on the cover of numerous magazines was killed after he was struck by a train in Southern California, authorities said.

Burbank Police Sgt. Scott Meadows said George Gregory “Greg” Plitt Jr. and two other men were filming on the tracks north of Burbank on Saturday afternoon when Plitt was hit by a southbound Metrolink train.

The Los Angeles County coroner’s office said Plitt was 37.

Investigators have ruled out a suicide as the cause of Plitt’s death, Burbank police Sgt. Chris Canales said.

Canales said witnesses reported hearing the train’s horn blare before Plitt was struck.

A well-known fitness model, Plitt has filmed other workout videos on train tracks, as seen in the embedded video above.

Plitt’s website says he has appeared on more than 200 magazine covers and a variety of television shows.
