SUFFOLK COUNTY (PIX11) -- Two men are behind bars after a Suffolk County cop managed to foil an attempted robbery while on a coffee break.

The detective was inside a Dunkin Donuts on Montauk Highway Wednesday night when a man with a gun walked in and announced the robbery.

Cops said the suspect, Andrew Berger, 27, shot at the officer but missed. As soon as the shots rang out, two other police officers ran into the store and arrested him.

The suspect's accomplice, Matthew McGurk, 25, was arrested a short time later. Police think both men are behind almost a dozen similar armed robberies since December.
