Man poses as police officer, robs victim in the Bronx

BRONX (PIX11) -- New York police are looking for a man accused of posing as a police officer and robbing a victim in the Bronx last month.

Police say the robbery happened around 8:40 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, inside of a business at  497 East 138 Street.

The suspect reportedly approached a 28-year-old man and identified himself as a police officer.

He proceeded to rummage through the man's pockets and removed a wallet, $20 cash and an iPhone 5S, police said. The suspect then fled the scene.

The victim was not injured.

The suspect is described as Hispanic male, approximately 25-35-years-old, 6' tall, weighing 180 pounds, with a medium complexion and brown eyes. He was wearing a red wool hat, a black jacket and blue jeans.
