NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — A United flight headed to London has returned to Newark Liberty International Airport due to a smoke condition on the plane.

A spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says United Flight 922 returned safely to the airport after takeoff Wednesday morning. Passengers disembarked safely and no injuries were reported.

It wasn’t immediately known whether the smoke was in the cockpit or cabin area of the Boeing 767, or both.
