ASTORIA (PIX11)--Alex Pepper lives in Astoria, Queens. He's already a top ten finalist in the Doritos Crash The Super Bowl contest, now the countdown is on now to see if he takes the top spot or runner-up spot.

"The last thing you ever want to do is drop your partner, so it was taking that nightmare of mine of dropping my partner, and you know just making it into a commercial," Pepper said.

Pepper's commercial is called "What Could Go Wrong?"

Pepper said he came up with his idea in mid-October, and got to work right away. He is the only New York finalist.

"I was technically Director, and did star in the ad," Pepper said.

Pepper told us he also did the editing. His girlfriend, Sarah Linn Reedy, did some camera work.

It was filmed on the roof of their Astoria, Queens building, and put together in the apartment, he said.

"I think he has a great chance, he's so talented, and worked so hard and I'm really proud of what he's done," Reedy said.

A spokesperson for the contest told us the Grand Prize winner is selected by the fans.

The Grand Prize winner gets $1 million dollars, and a one-year job contract with Universal Pictures, a spokesperson for the contest said. The winner's ad will be aired during the Super Bowl.

The runner-up ad will be shown as well, and a cash prize will be given. The Runner-up is selected by the Doritos brand team, according to a spokesperson.
