RUTHERFORD, N.J. (PIX11) -- We’ve been telling you about Rutherford, N.J. resident Alex Dwek and his daughter Maya-Rose.

Maya is now 8 and doctors still don’t know what’s wrong with her. She can’t walk or talk. And Alex is doing all he can to raise her as a single dad.

You’ve helped with suggestions on what the issue may be. And you’ve given Alex ideas on how to make life better. But over the holidays, a group of friends and a business brought some joy into their lives.

A group of female friends that calls themselves “Bad Girls, Good Deeds” picked Maya as their special project. Grace Lutheran Church in River Edge, N.J. threw a little benefit for Maya. She had a ball with the woman playing and Queen Elsa, the snow queen from “Frozen."

And the world’s largest toy store, FAO Schwarz, gave Maya the morning of her life.

She got a private tour. Maya was fascinated by the singing of the Toy Soldier guide. But take a look at the video.

The most joy is sitting with her dad -- the dad she knows will always be there for his little girl.
