WASHINGTON, D.C. (PIX11) — Bao Bao the panda cub experienced snow for the first time Wednesday.
The 1-year-old cub was captured on video by Smithsonian’s National Zoo tumbling down a hill, climbing and sliding down trees, and pouncing on her mom Mei Xiang.
The “little snow panda” was born August 23, 2013. She was given the name Bao Bao 100 days after her birth, thanks to a public poll that drew hundreds of thousands votes.
Bao Bao translates to “treasure” or “precious” in English. She made her first public debut January 2014 and has been a popular sight at the zoo since.
