Officers shot in the Bronx ‘went above and beyond’ to protect NYers: mayor

TREMONT, The Bronx (PIX11) -- A pair of plainclothes NYPD officers who were shot Monday night in the Bronx had returned to the field after their shift was over to search for a pair of armed robbers, Police Commissioner William Bratton said.

Mayor Bill de Blasio praised the men, saying they went "above and beyond" to protect their community.
