NYPD monitoring threats against cops during New Year’s celebrations

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton said Wednesday the department is monitoring threats made against cops on social media ahead of New Year's celebrations across the city.

Bratton said there has been upwards of 8 threats on social media in the past week, and about 15 arrests have been made.

"Any threat made against my officers is gonna be dealt with very quickly, very effectively," Bratton said at a press conference in Times Square, detailing security measures for the Times Square ball drop.
