DENMARK, N.Y. (AP/PIX11) — A 47-year-old woman has been charged with manslaughter after a teenage boy died when he ingested prescription drugs and over-the-counter medicine at her northern New York home.

Troopers say she allowed drug use by five teenagers at her residence.

Brenda Roth reportedly failed to provide life-saving measures to a 15-year-old boy after he became unresponsive at her home in the Lewis County town of Denmark, 65 miles north of Syracuse.

Roth was also charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of tampering with evidence.

Police say the 15-year-old was staying over at his friend’s house when he was found dead early Sunday morning.

Roth is being held in the county jail. It couldn’t immediately be determined if she has a lawyer.
